The Host Hangul RRGwoemul lit. Monster is a 2006 South Korean monster film, directed by Bong Joonho and starring Song Kangho, Byun Heebong, Park Haeil, Bae Doona and Go Ahsung.

In late 2000, an American military pathologist orders the dumping of formaldehyde down a drain leading into the Han River. Over the next few years, there are sightings of a strange amphibious creature in the waterway, and the fish in the river die off. A suicidal man, just before jumping into the river, sees something dark moving in the water.Six years later, a slowwitted Park Gangdu Song Kangho runs a small snackbar in a park near the River with his father, Heebong Byun Heebong. Other family members are Gangdus daughter Hyunseo Go Ahsung, his sister Namjoo Bae Doona, a national medalist archer, and his brother Namil Park Haeil, an alcoholic college graduate and former political activist. ........
